Coastal Access in Cumbria
Silecroft to Cleveleys
Consultation on key issues and opportunities
Natural England, working closely with the Cumbria and Lancashire County Councils, is about to start work to improve access on a further stretch of coast path from Silecroft in Cumbria to Cleveleys in Lancashire.
England Coast Path: Silecroft to Silverdale - GOV.UK
England Coast Path: Silverdale to Cleveleys – GOV.UK
It is important for us to achieve clarity about the main issues and opportunities on this stretch of coast - we need to be able to identify the pivotal locations on the stretch where particular issues (i.e. estuaries, major developments, environmental sensitivities, areas of significant erosion, where improvements for people with reduced mobility would be most beneficial etc) could have a significant influence on the choices for alignment of the trail along the coast.
Detailed alignment work will not be conducted until we meet with owners and occupiers on site later this year.
We are keen to gather relevant and useful information from a variety of sources and therefore invite you to submit your comments on the main issues and opportunities using this form. If you would like to receive the digital Area of Search shape file, please get in touch.
Please send the completed form back by e-mail to the following address: northwest.coastalaccess@naturalengland.org.uk by Thursday 24th March 2016.
If you have any queries or would like any further information then please contact the North West Coastal access Team via the above e-mail address.
Involving and sharing news and opportunities with as many people as we can must be part of our engagement mantra, so please help by forwarding this bulletin as relevant.
There are a number of consultations in progress so it may be an opportune moment to remind you that you can keep up with online council consultations at any time via our consultation portal.
